Vision:
Live OneWorld is in the business of creating “Citizens of the World” who clearly see their global responsibilities and are empowered to act for a more equal and just society.  Here in the beginning of the 21st century we stand at a turning point in history. Globalization, through technology, has created a truly global community in which our actions and decisions are directly and indirectly affecting our neighbors around the globe.  Yet we still live in 20th century institutions designed for 20th century problems, if we are ever to adapt our institutions to solve the greatest global problems of this new century, then we need a new imagination, a renewed spirituality, and a broader identity.  Live OneWorld’s mission is to instill this new Global Identity into the American public, and engage powerful institutions such as government, business, education, and religion, in order to create institutions that use their power to be global servants of humanity. Our interests flow from our identity.  If we want globally responsible actors who consider the interests of their brothers and sisters around the world, then we must begin by imagining ourselves anew.  To Live OneWorld means to commit yourself to a world where love and responsibility is not contained to one’s own race, culture, religion, or nation but expands outward to encompass all of humanity.

Objectives:
The United States sits atop the global political and economic structures of the world, it is time to move beyond simple charity and start leveraging these powerful social structures to serve those denied a chance at a dignified life who live at the bottom of these structures.  The world needs us to be prepared for the global challenges we face in the 21st century, and it is time to usher in the next step in the evolution of our society, it is time to Live OneWorld.
